"Please, Harry." Albus's eyes are watery blue, and his graying skin is crinkled like a pudding left out too long. He smells of death. "Hold my hand, Harry - just this once, forget your pride."
Harry keeps his voice quiet and level, despite his flashing eyes. "You kept me blind and put me at risk - me, a child. You manipulated and schemed and lied. You let those I loved die."
It takes Albus time to whisper his reply. His ward at St. Mungo's is dusty and empty; nobody wants to be near a discredited corpse. "Yes, Harry - but I loved you."
